Spring Cleaning and a Weekend Project

Happy Monday dear ones!

Yesterday after our should've been snow storm, a cancelled swim meet, and a postponed visit with Papa I had a Sunday with nothing much to do!

With my spare time I raided the apartment and filled two garbage bags filled with too-big clothes and other stuff to donate to goodwill.  I then started the spring cleaning early and scoured the kitchen.  As I was doing so I caught sight of my utensil holder.

This was a gift from my dear friend Ineke back at 1108 E Washington.  I had thought of replacing this with something brighter but I think of her every time I see it so I thought, nothing a can of primer and some bright paint can't solve!

(supplies: drop cloth, odorless spray primer, bright paint, modge podge, sponge brush)

I already had all of these things in my apartment!  The odorless primer is awesome because I can spray paint inside without nasty paint fumes.

I coated the canister with two coats of primer.
Then used two coats of yellow acrylic.
Finally I used the modge podge to seal the paint.

I love it!
