DIY Mode

I am in total DIY mode these days you guys!  Woo!  Feels good to be working on projects again.

Here are a couple I did this weekend.
First I started by organizing my spice rack.  I got this little shelf from my friend Anna a long time ago.  I like having all my herbs and spices out where I can access them easily.
Until yesterday it was a messy mismatch of different bottles.  Kind of an eye sore.

So I found some cute little jars at Meijer for pretty cheap.  I wrote up some labels and filled them up!  I love the organized result.  I didn't have enough canisters to replace all the bottles. I kept my prettier bottles and the smaller containers up top.

Then tonight I made a casserole carrier.  I used some left over quilted fabric I had from Natalie's t-shirt quilt.  I found this adorable plaid at Hancock fabric for only $3 a yard!  I had the pink fabric already for the handles.  I found the tutorial here.

Honestly, the tutorial was pretty easy to follow.  The trickiest part of making this was sewing that dang bias tape around the edges.

The finished product is kind of messy, but it was a fun project.  I learned from it and gained some confidence to make things that are a little more complicated than just pillows and quilts.  Woo!

I also have an AWESOME project to show you tomorrow!  It's not completely finished.  My dad visited today and brought his power tools. :D  Can't wait to show you!!
