Book Collage

I've been trying to come up with something cool to paint for over my sofa.  I've had a hard time coming up with something good.  Then it occurred to me... what about a collage?  I have an old copy of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.  I got it for free and it was falling apart.  So I decided to create a collage from the pages of one of my favorite stories.  C.S. Lewis might perhaps roll over in his grave if he knew what I did.  Sorry Clive!

I started out with a large piece of cardboard from a poster I'd bought a while back.  Modge pode, your book of choice, and a sponge brush.

"Oh, I'm sorry.  Were you in the middle of something?"

"Don't mind me."

I used a total of 50 pages.  I was sure to include every chapter page and at least one page from each chapter.  I glued each page down one at a time to be sure they'd all fit.

I thought I'd add a little shimmer with this pearl shaded paint.  This was probably not the best idea, because it made it really hard to smooth the pages down with the modge podge.

I used two coats of modge podge and attached the collage to the wall with four 3M velcro strips.

I think I'll eventually get a frame for it, because it looks a little sparse.  Or maybe on a darker wall?

If you could do a book collage, what book would you pick??
